Paragraph vs Separate Lines

Want to make the most of our Online Image Translator? Explore the tips below to optimize your experience and get seamless translations every time!

Problem:

When translating an image with multiple lines of text, the AI may mistakenly group separate text elements into a single paragraph. As a result, the translated text loses its original format, making it harder to read and understand.

For example, if a bulleted list is incorrectly detected as a paragraph, the translated content will appear as a continuous block instead of retaining its structured format. This can cause confusion, especially when working with instructional materials, menus, or data tables.

Solution:

The automatic paragraph detection feature in our AI Image Translator allows users to control how multi-line text is recognized and translated. When enabled, the AI groups related text into paragraphs for smoother readability. However, when working with structured layouts, disabling this option ensures that each line is processed separately, preserving the original format.

By toggling this setting based on the content type, users can achieve more accurate translations and maintain the intended structure of their documents.

How does it work

Recognizing Multi-Lines of Paragraph vs Separate Text

  • In case we want to translate the content in paragraphs, turn on the automatic paragraph detection feature

  • In case we want to keep the structured layouts, turn off the feature can help us to to keep the format.

Other Adjustments

  1. Clean up the meaningless dots and lines on the translated image by the Draw & Repair button.

  2. Unify the font size by the set to same size feature and align them according to the nodes.

  3. Bold all titles and align the text to the middle.

More About the Paragraph Detection

Why Not Always Translate Line by Line

While translating text line by line ensures precise alignment for structured content like lists, tables, or forms, it may not be ideal for paragraphs and flowing text. When content is broken into separate lines, the natural sentence structure can be disrupted, making the translation feel disjointed or unnatural. This is especially noticeable in languages where sentence order and word connections play a crucial role. Enabling Automatic Paragraph Detection helps maintain the original flow, ensuring a smoother and more readable translation.

Can We Adjust the Grouping of Text

Yes! If automatic paragraph detection merges text incorrectly, you can manually split or merge specific parts with the feature buttons on top. The Split Merged Text tool allows you to separate text that was wrongly grouped, ensuring that lists, tables, and structured data remain clear. On the other hand, the Merge Split Text tool lets you combine fragmented sentences that should be read as one. By using these tools, you can fine-tune the translation results for better readability and accuracy.
